
KJFM SPORTS – The Silex Owls defeated New Haven 10-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Chase Mullen induced a groundout to finish off the game.
Silex got things moving in the first inning, when the Owls scored one run on a stolen base.
Silex tallied four runs in the fifth inning and were led by Peyton Miller, Tyler Twellman, and Josh Price, all driving in runs in the frame.
Hunter Hubbard was on the hill for the Owls. The righty surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Silex scattered seven hits in the game. Twellman and Price each managed two hits to lead Silex. The Owls didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ian Beckham had the most chances in the field with eight.
