KJFM SPORTS – Pleasant Hill/Western Wild Wolves lost the lead late in a 12-2 defeat to Carrollton on Monday. The game was tied at one with Carrollton batting in the bottom of the fourth when Eli Flowers drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Wild Wolves struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Carrollton, giving up 12 runs.
In the bottom of the third inning, Carrollton tied things up at one when they scored on a stolen base during Matt Biermann’s at bat.
Dagan Cordes led the Carrollton to victory on the mound. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out six.
Kaleb Fresemeyer took the loss for Pleasant Hill/Western. The righthander went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out one.
Alex Peters started the game for the Wild Wolves. The righty allowed three hits and one run over two and a third innings, striking out three and walking one
Fresemeyer and Tyler Van Dyne all had one hit to lead Pleasant Hill/Western.
Lucas Howard went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Carrollton in hits. The Hawks stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Caleb Howard led the way with three.
