
KJFM SPORTS — The Silex Owls fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-3 loss to Community on Wednesday.
After Silex scored one run in the top of the fifth, Community answered with one of their own. The Owls scored when Ian Beckham singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Community followed up with three runs in the third.
Carroll got the start for Community. The pitcher surrendered three runs on seven hits over six and a third innings, striking out ten and walking one.
Hunter Hubbard started the game for Silex. Hubbard lasted three and a third innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out six. Trenton Roth and Chase Mullen entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
The Owls tallied seven hits on the day. Josh Price, Beckham, and Hubbard all had multiple hits for Silex. Hubbard, Beckham, and Price each collected two hits to lead the Owls.
