
KJFM SPORTS — The Silex Owls fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-1 loss to Elsberry on Tuesday.
Elsberry got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run for the Indians. Elsberry followed up with three runs in the second inning, the big inning for came thanks to Kayden Kinsler and a fielder’s choice by Durell.
Gavin Woodson was on the mound for for the Indians. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out 15 and walking one.
Trenton Roth toed the rubber for the Owls. Roth lasted one and one-third innings, allowing zero hits and five runs while striking out three. Hunter Hubbard threw four and two-thirds innings in relief.
Max Lavy went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Silex in hits.
Kyle Turnbull led Elsberry with one hit in three at bats.
