SILEX, Mo.– The Bowling Green Lady Cats and the Silex Lady Owls face off in an EMO conference matchup with each team looking for a conference title. Silex defeated Bowling Green in 2021 with a score of 3-2.
The Lady Owls dropped their previous two games before picking up a win over Wright City Monday night. Meanwhile, the Lady Cats have won 5 straight games. Silex sits at a 10-6 record, and Bowling Green is 8-6 on the season. Bowling Green has been playing great softball as they’ve been climbing up the conference rankings with a string of victories. Silex is looking to bounce back as they’ve fallen to Liberty and Canton in two tight games. The Silex offense has been hot while the pitching staff for the Lady Cats has been even hotter. Junior Megan Graver has been racking up the wins and strikeouts in her last five starts as she has given up only a measly two runs in her previous five appearances on the mound. Meanwhile, Silex has scored 50 runs over their last six games. However, the Silex pitching staff has struggled as of late, presenting a challenge for the Lady Owls. The Lady Cats offense is nothing to sleep as they have outscored their opponents 33-3 in the previous five contests.
With both teams fighting for a conference title, this is sure to be an excellent matchup between two titans. Silex and Bowling Green have been two teams that have dominated the Missouri High School softball world over the past few years, the two must face each other in a showdown of the best area teams in softball this season.
