10th Annual Walk For Life

Options for Women will hold its 10th Annual Walk For Life and BBQ on Saturday, May 11th, at the Bowling Green City Park. Check-in and registration begins at 10:30 AM with the actual walk beginning at 11:00 AM.  You may register online at https://secure.fundeasy.com/ministrysync/event/?e=26994.  Each walker who raises $150 or more will receive a free T-shirt. Walk For Life T-shirts will also be available for purchase on the day of the event as well. Event sponsors: Cindy O’Laughlin, People’s Savings Bank, Edward Jones, People’s Bank and Trust, and WGCA/88.5 FM.

A barbecue will be held at park with eat-in or carry-out available from 11 am to 1 pm. The menu will include hamburgers, pork burgers, hot dogs, prepackaged chips and desserts, and bottled water and lemonade.

Proceeds from the barbecue and donations from the Walk For Life will go to support the Options for Women Pregnancy Resource Center, located at 1420 S. Bus. 61, Suite B at the roundabout in Bowling Green.  Options for Women opened in Bowling Green in 2016, and in the fall of 2022, opened a Hannibal location.  Options for Women serves pregnant women and young mothers and fathers from Pike and surrounding counties. Services provided include medical grade pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and life coaching, all confidential and at no charge. Pregnancy, parenting, and life skills classes are offered free at the center and online, with incentives for participation. Options for Women also offers referrals for medical help and temporary housing for expectant mothers in need, prenatal vitamins, coaching and support for those grieving an abortion or miscarriage, adoption referrals, information on abortion and abortion pill reversal, a mentoring program for young men, and ongoing support and encouragement to young parents.
