For over 30 years, Louisiana Community Betterment Assoc. has sponsored National Night Out, a community partnership with our local law enforcement and emergency workers.  LCBA is sponsoring the National Night Out event on Saturday, August 9, 2025.  This event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Although the official National Night Out date is on Tuesday, organizations are free to choose an alternate date that fits with people’s schedules to improve participation.  “It is all about getting to know the people of your neighborhood and your community by hosting a “Yard Party”  or Block Party and inviting your neighbors and friends to get together for an evening of fellowship,” stated Diana Huckstep, LCBA Chairperson.  LCBA is encouraging neighbors and friends to gather together in their neighborhoods to encourage neighborhood safety for everyone.  “By knowing who your neighbor is, you are making your neighborhood stronger.” said Huckstep.  LCBA is asking folks to gather together, bring a dish to share and celebrate an evening of fun and camaraderie.  If you are planning on hosting a “Yard Party,” please call Diana Huckstep at 314-640-4420.  This will enable LCBA to notify the Louisiana Police and Emergency workers, so that they can stop by your location to visit with you and your neighbors.

LCBA is asking those who are planning a “Block Party” to please contact the Louisiana Police Department at 573-754-4021 to obtain any permits that are necessary in keeping with city ordinances.
