Clopton’s Gracey MacLaughlin, already a state champion in the 200 meter individual medley representing Louisiana/Clopton Swimming, is competing in the YMCA swimming nationals today in Greensboro, North Carolina.
In the preliminary morning session, Gracey competed in the tenth and final heat of the 200 IM, finishing third with a time of 2:05.66.
The winner, Sara Czirjak of Piedmont, Virginia posted a time of 2:03.90 in the heat.
MacLaughlin qualified for the B-Final with her time.
In the feature race, Gracey started strong, then had to rally to finish fifth with a time of 2:04.56
MacLaughlin is representing the Twin Pike Family YMCA in the national event, her final meet of the year.
