More than 170 people were treated to the sounds of Elvis Presley’s music during Raintree Arts Council’s annual Encore fund-raising performance April 5 at The Apple Shed in Clarksville. One surprise came when Richard Biggs – with sunglasses and faux sideburns – took the stage dressed as a “jumpsuit era” Elvis. The appearance delighted his sister, Donna Grote, who dressed as Priscilla Presley. Other performers were Debbie Ingram, Mindy Webert, Tom Wallace, Angela Maier, Beverly Cogar, Alyssa Niemeyer, Jessica Harding and Tina Sprague. Songs included “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Suspicious Minds,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” “Good Luck Charm,” “That’s All Right, Mama,” “All Shook Up,” “Hound Dog” and “Love Me Tender.” The evening concluded with a group rendition of “If I Can Dream” and Ingram telling the audience that Elvis had left the building.
