BOWLING GREEN, Mo — Think it’s cold outside?
Well, yes, it is, but, so far, this January has not been as brutal as at least one in the past.
Bowling Green’s record low for the month was 25 degrees below zero on January 12th, 1974.
If you think that’s horrible, just wait. The city’s all-time record low happened on February 9th, 1979. That’s when the mercury hit minus 26.
Just for shivers and grins, the third-coldest day in Bowling Green came on Dec. 23, 1989, when the temperature hit minus 21 Fahrenheit.
