
CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Raintree Arts Council held its 50th Annual Art Show and Judged Competition Oct. 12 and 13 at The Apple Shed in Clarksville in conjunction with Applefest.
There were 28 individual artists with 130 entries and 424 student entries. Participating schools were BONCL, Bowling Green Middle School individual entry, Bowling Green High School individual entry, Clopton elementary, middle and high schools, Elsberry individual entries, Louisiana elementary, middle and high schools, Our Lady of Good Success individual entry, Troy Buchanan High School, Troy Holiness School and several home school entries.
The competition was judge by Lacey Minor, gallery director and instructor at Lindenwood University. For the 50th annual show, Raintree highlighted its founders – Pat Kerns, Jerry Epperson, Bill Blakey and the late Jamie McIlroy.
Winners in K-1 grades were: 1st, Chevy Early; 2nd Kindsey Miller; 3rd, Titus Hager.
Winners in 2-3 grades were: 1st, CeCe House; 2nd, Isabella Diffey; 3rd, Sayje Mathis. Honorable mentions: Kysin Hobbs and Draylin Powell.
Winners in 4-5 grades were: 1st, Haley Turner; 2nd, Joshua Mayfield; 3rd, Eliza Scott. Honorable mentions: Ella Brown and Mariano Salvador.
Winners in 6-8 grades were: 1st, Randy Ellis; 2nd, Ashley Bullock; 3rd, Lydia Weekly.
Winners in 9-10 grades were: 1st, Elizabeth Caldwell; 2nd, Braxton Woods; 3rd, Georgia Powell.
Winners in 11-12 grades were: 1st, Jalaya Ries; 2nd, Jackson Fire-Kramer; 3rd, Ace Keller.
Student Best in Show: Emerson Bradley.
Winners in adult 3D: 1st, “Untitled” by Veronica Sandercock; 2nd, “Chairs” by Jon Moran; 3rd, “Butterfly Jar” by Steve Ryan.
Winners in photography: 1st, “Harvest Time” by Jim Ross; 2nd, “Foggy Dunes” by Dan Borders; 3rd, “Happy Seagull” by Connie Stephens.
Amateur division winners were: 1st, “Pike County Barn” by Bill Blakey; 2nd, “Grace” by Kathy Miller; 3rd, “Echo Point” by Leonard Pratte; 4th, “Iris” by Jenny Asquith.
Professional division winners were: 1st, “Soccer Fantasy” by Dieter Mueller; 2nd, “How Can We Be Together” by Ann Titus; 3rd, “The Grass is Greener Under the Big Ole Tree” by Howard Kuo; 4th, “Road to the Light is Always the Correct Path” by Cindy Logan. Honorable mentions: “Summer Afternoon Creekside” by Dennis Babbitt; “Not Ready” by Debra Scoggin Myers; “Geckos in the Garden” by Brenda Benson.
Best of show: “Old House on Highway 79” by Dieter Mueller.
