On the National Day of Prayer, many Americans assemble in prayer in front of courthouses, as well as in houses of worship, like churches, mosques, synagogues and temples. Luncheons, picnics, and music performances revolving around praying for the nation are also popular observances. Traditionally, the President of the United States issues an official National Day of Prayer proclamation each year as well.
Louisiana will be observing the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2 at 10:30 a.m.
The community is asked to take moment to pray on several areas of focus: Our Community, Our Government, Educators, Youth, Businesses and Military. Churches are being asked to recognize the moment with the ringing of their bells.
The Ministerial Alliance will be meeting at The Bridge coffee shop and have asked prayer partners from each of those focus areas to join them. They will each be offering a prayer as representatives. Anyone is welcome to join them that morning in fellowship of the observance
