BOWLING GREEN, Mo. – Bowling Green High School Head Football Coach Joe Chinn has resigned from his coaching duties after accepting the high school assistant principal job.
Chinn not only served as the head coach of the football team, but also an assistant track coach. Filling Chinn’s position on the football field will be Missouri Hall of Fame and assistant Bobcat coach Mark St. Clair according to athletic director Matt Chance.
Chinn has been at the helm of the Bobcat programs for the past three seasons after spending several as an assistant coach. His Bobcat team the past two seasons have been in the running down the stretch in postseason ending each year just shy of the state games. Over the past two year’s Chinn has a record of 23-2.
Part of that Bobcat success comes from the newly appointed head coach of St. Clair. After spending decades with the Hannibal Pirates program, St. Clair took the Bobcat offense to another level. With 30 years of winning seasons, except for one year, St. Clair’s knowledge and leadership pushed the Bobcats offense to a level that most in the area couldn’t stop.
While the Bobcats graduate a large number, the well is far from dry for the program. The Bowling Green program is expected to be contenders in Class 2 once again this fall.
