
PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — Human remains identified in Lincoln County (Troy, MO): Human remains discovered earlier this week in the area of Old Hwy 79, near Hwy M in Elsberry in Lincoln County have been identified as that of Timothy Padfield who disappeared on May 30th, 2019, near Annada, Mo in Pike County.
The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office was able to scientifically confirm the identity of the remains with the use of dental records. A K9 team and drone were used to search the area however no further remains were located.
We would like to recognize the assistance MRC K9 Technical Rescue Team Region C, the Wright City Fire Protection District Drone Pilots, and the Water Patrol Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
On May 31, 2019 at 1422 hours, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the wife of Timothy Padfield she had last spoken with her husband at approximately 1700 hours. Timothy Padfield was attempting to retrieve items from the home located on Pike 202 Annada, Missouri. During this time, the residence was inaccessible by vehicle due to flooding. Timothy Padfield parked his vehicle on Pike 202 and walked to their residence. Timothy Padfield had told his wife the water was up to his neck and due to not feeling well, he advised he was going to spend the evening in the residence.
On May 31, 2019, the Elsberry, Missouri Fire Chief was contacted by Mrs. Padfield who traveled by boat to check on Timothy. The residence was check but could not locate Timothy. Mrs. Padfield stated mud was found in the home and bed where timothy was sleeping.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol was contacted and advised of the information. A search of the area was performed having negative results.
On April 24, 2023 at approximately 1522 hours, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a field hand while working in a field located south of Elsberry, Missouri and locating partial remains.
On April 26, 2023, the remains were scientifically identified by a forensic odontologist by the use of dental records to be Timothy Padfield.
The Padfield family was advised of the findings.
