BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Despite rain early Tuesday, the crowd at the Pike County, Missouri Fair was one for the books Tuesday evening to open the weeklong event.
The over three inches of rain force the cancellation of the dirt drag races and the motocross dirt bike competition, but the rides, rodeo and small stage events went on as planned. The small stage featured the Junior Miss Pike County and the Fair Queen competitions. Taking the title of Junior Miss for 2022 was Reese Turner and Katie Houchins was crowned this year’s queen.

In the horse arena, the Outlaw/5J Rodeo crew filled the stands while contestants worked their way through the muddy conditions.

While the dirt drag races won’t be made up, the motocross dirt bike races will now be held with the quad races on Wednesday evening.
