MISSOURI — Archery has endured as a skill through the centuries because it’s useful as a hunting tool and target archery is a quiet and relaxing sport. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will present free classes for target archery from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center in Kansas City.

These classes are an opportunity for individuals and families to learn about basic target archery skills and equipment. Participants will also get to try out target bows and arrows on a range with assistance from Stacey Davis, class instructor and Discovery Center manager. The course topics will include archery fundamentals, safety, and equipment care.

Archery can be a lifetime sport enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. The morning class is for participants ages 9 and older. COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed.
