
LOUISIANA, Mo. — Pike County Memorial Hospital’s Surgery Nurse, Lyndsey Jackson, RN assists Marilyn Schlueter and Anita Hearn in receiving numbers 500 and 501 monoclonal antibody therapy infusions at PCMH’s outpatient surgery and infusion center. PCMH giving much appreciation to their pharmacist, Suzanne, and pharmacy tech, Brenda, who manage the procurement, storage, preparation, labeling, and reporting of monoclonal antibody doses.
PMCH has the monoclonal antibody infusion treatment that is available for those infected by or exposed to the virus. It is a single intravenous treatment that takes 20-30 minutes, followed by an hour of patient monitoring. If administered within 10 days of COVID-19 symptoms, it can be highly effective in neutralizing the virus and stopping symptoms from getting worse. In order to receive the treatment, you will need a referral from your primary physician.
