
LOUISIANA, Mo. — A Scarecrow Decorating contest was conducted by the Louisiana Community Betterment Association. Judging began October 4th and trophies were awarded on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
A total of 14 scarecrows were entered by businesses in the Louisiana area. “The judges had a very difficult time picking the first, second and third place winners. They all told me that the competition was very stiff and that each one was so unique,” stated Diana Huckstep, LCBA Chairperson.
The first place trophy was awarded to Dyno Nobel, second place to Wayne B. Smith, and third-place trophy was awarded to Mercantile Bank. Businesses that participated in the Scarecrow contest were: Ables Oil, Joe’s Jug – Ayerco – Cindy Blaylock State Farm Agency – Crazy Ladies Garden Center – Dyno Nobel – Handmade Harvests – Hen House restaurant – Hop’s restaurant – Mercantile Bank – The Eagles Nest and Wayne B Smith. “ The LCBA congratulates all of our winners. Many thanks to all of the businesses that participated and we hope that we will have an even bigger and better competition next year,” stated Ms Huckstep.
