
KJFM SPORTS — The Bowling Green Lady ‘Cats fell to the Battle Spartans 11-1 in a non-conference match Saturday morning.
Bowling Green struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Battle, giving up 11 runs in only five innings of play.
Battle got things started in the first inning, tacking on four runs before Bowling Green could record three outs.
Brooke Nutter lasted five innings in the circle for the Spartans, holding Bowling Green to three hits and one run. Nutter recorded only two strikeouts and allowed one walk.
Bowling Green’s Sydney Charlton led things off on the rubber, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits, four of which were earned runs. Charlton struck out five and walked five in her varsity performance.
Lily Bowen, Avery Gamm, and Merdyth Betts each collected one hit in the Bowling Green loss.
