
LOUISIANA, Mo. — Pike County photographers entering the “People, Places and Faces of Missouri” photo contest sponsored by the Louisiana Public Library, the Friends of the Louisiana Library, the Louisiana Library Board and Chautauqua will receive a free entry for the Domke camera bag raffle. Others may purchase tickets for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Tickets are available from Library Board members or at the Louisiana Public Library says Holly Mabry, librarian.
The photo contest is to celebrate Missouri’s bicentennial. Entries are due to the Louisiana Public Library Thursday, August 24. Color or black and white photos 8” X 10” but not larger than 11” X 14”. Entries must be framed or matted. The photographer must supply contact information with submission. Entry fee is $10.00 and forms are available at the Louisiana Public Library. Cash prizes of $75.00 for Best in Show. Three runner-up prizes of $20.00 will be awarded. Photographers may have a buy option on their photos A 10% fee will be charged by the Friends of the Louisiana Library.
Winners of the photography contest will be announced Thursday, August 31 at 4:00 p.m. The winner of the camera bag will also be announced at that time. Light refreshments will be served. Photos will be on display during the month of September at the Louisiana Public Library, 121 N. Third, Louisiana, MO Library hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 to 5:30.
