LOUISIANA, Mo. — The Community of Faith Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held again this year, but changes will have to be made due to the restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
This free meal is open to anyone wanting to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but there will not be a dine-in meal at the church this year. Curbside pickup service will be available at Centenary United Methodist Church at 7th and South Carolina streets between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. Reservations are required by Tuesday, Nov. 24 for this service.
As in past years, deliveries can be made, but reservations for that service are also required by Tuesday, Nov. 24. The number to call is 573-754-4412 until Tuesday at 5 p.m. but reservations will not be accepted after that day. (An answering machine is available for after-hours calls on Tuesday.) Delivery times will fall between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 noon. A maximum of 400 meals will be prepared and that is why reservations are essential.
Area churches and organizations sponsor this annual event. Planning sessions have been held and numerous volunteers are needed for preparation and delivery. For more information, call Vicky Keely at 573-754-0149 or Mark Haddock at 314-221-5458.
