BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) President and Chief Executive Officer Don Patrick has announced the hiring of Steven Gibbs of Hannibal and Shawn Minor of Louisiana in the agency’s Weatherization Department.

The NECAC Weatherization Program provides upgrades to hundreds of homes each year. Funding is provided through contracts with the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Division of Energy. The work can be as simple as caulking around windows or as complicated as putting in a new furnace. Most older homes need new insulation.
The goal is to allow clients to lower their utility bills and help communities improve their housing stock. NECAC can spend up to $6,500 per home. Rental and owner-occupied units and mobile homes are eligible.
Gibbs is a 2017 graduate of Hannibal High School and will serve as a weatherization energy auditor. Minor is a 2003
graduate of Louisiana High School and will be a crew specialist.
