The City of Bowling Green continues
work on its comprehensive plan.  The comp
plan is a blueprint for future land use development within the city.

The four
phase project began with meetings between the plan’s consultant, the city’s Planning
and Zoning Commission, city officials and staff. Phase two is now underway and
involves engaging the public in identifying goals and objectives for such areas
as transportation, utilities, recreation and housing.

Because comp plans involving changes to current land use values, plan
organizers maintain the impact of the change can be less traumatic if the
people are involved in the planning process. 
Therefore city officials deem it vital that the public be included in
developing plans for the future.   

Officials are asking the public to participate in an upcoming planning
session at the Bowling Green
High School, Tuesday,
April 27, 7:00pm – 9:00.

“This is a rare opportunity for residents to be involved in planning
their city’s future,” said Mayor,
Chad Perkins.
The current comprehensive plan is more than 20 years old. The Lang Gang Consultants of Lake St.
Louis  are heading up the project and
work on the plan is expected to take 18 months.
