Bowling Green Lady Bobcat Katie Scherder is signing a national letter of intent to play basketball for William Woods University on Monday (today).
Scherder, a four-year starter of the Lady ‘Cats, was part of three district championships and a trip to the first ever quarterfinal game in Lady Bobcat history. Scherder has been named to several EMO All-Conference teams and the Northeast District teams. In her senior year alone Scherder contributed 310 points, an average of 11.1 per game; 208 assists and pulled down 118 rebounds. She was also one of the top free throw shooters on the team with a 70 percent.
Scherder will be attending William Woods University and will be under Don Chapla in his third year leading the Lady Owls. She will be joining fellow EMO high school athlete Megan Aubuchon from Winfield on the court.
Scherder is the daughter of Kevin and Lisa Scherder of Bowling Green.
