Even with a couple of withdrawals, the field is still crowded for Pike County’s August primary election.
Jim Luebrecht, Rick Mollerus, Greg Ellis, Leo Kerns and Melinda Gosnell are the five Democrats running for western district commissioner. The winner will face of the three Republican candidates – Jared Henderson, Gale Griffith Frolos or Marianne (Bibb) Everhart.
Kris Bair and Patricia Capps have withdrawn their names from the Democrat ballot for public administrator, but incumbent Nina Long will still face Roy Sisson Junior, Elizabeth Boots-Summers, Terry Fuerst and Trish Turner.
Greg Orf, Rebecca Humphrey and Brad Hufty are seeking the Republican nomination for public administrator.
For assessor, Democrat voters will choose either incumbent Donna Dempsey Prior or Donna Portwood Pederson.
And finally, Democrat incumbent Coroner Jim Turner is challenged in the primary by Bill Sterne.
