The Louisiana riverfront will once again be the place to be on July 4th as the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual fireworks show. The event will kick off with vendors opening up at 5:00 pm. The Little Mr. and Miss Firecracker and Miss Liberty Contest at 6:30 pm and the amazing fireworks display at dark. Also the Trailerman Express Train will be on hand to give free rides from 5:00 till 8:00 pm and Rob Brown from Deviation will dj.
Those interesting in having a booth at the riverfront can pick up an application at the Louisiana Chamber office at 304 Georgia Street or can download the form at the Louisiana July 4th Facebook page at www.facebook.com/LAJuly4th. Vendor booths in the past have included snow cones, Sandy Candy, hot dogs, soda, face painting, Dippin’ Dots ice cream, carnival games, cotton candy, popcorn, and fresh lemonade.
The Little Mr. and Miss Firecracker and Miss Liberty contest is always a fun time during the event. To be eligible for the Little Mr. and Miss Firecracker participants must be between the ages of 3 and 7. The Miss Liberty contest is for girls ages 8-13. Registration for the contest is from 5:00 to 6:00 pm with the contest starting at 6:30 pm. More information about the event can be found on Facebook or by contacting Tina Chidster at 754-0535.
The Chamber is also looking for donations to help support this year’s event. Any business or individual that is interested in donating can mail there donations to 304 Georgia Street, Louisiana, Missouri or drop off their donation at the upcoming street collection which will be held on June 20th and 21st at 3rd and Georgia. 100% of the money raised is used for the fireworks show.
