Investigators are looking at what caused a barge accident that affected Mississippi River and freight train traffic Tuesday at Louisiana.
The Coast Guard says two vessels broke away and got stuck under the turntable of the Kansas City Southern railroad bridge. It happened at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near Highway 79 at the southern edge of Louisiana.
There were no injuries and no freight was spilled. Tugboats from Marquette Transportation Company were being used to try and free the barges.
Authorities were not sure if high water contributed to the accident. The river level stood at less than half-a-foot above flood stage Tuesday at Louisiana.
