The kitchen at Clarksville United Methodist is renowned for its service to others.
Now, the church hopes the community will be equally as generous.
The congregation is serving a fried catfish dinner with all the trimmings and homemade desserts from 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday, March 13th.
The cost is $8.00 and takeouts will be available. Proceeds will go toward kitchen improvements and the church’s stained glass window project.
The historic worship site at the corner of Highway 79 and Howard Street is known worldwide by volunteers who have come to help the community battle the raging Mississippi River.
Three of Clarksville’s top five worst floods in the last two centuries have taken place during the last seven years. The Methodist Church is where volunteers were fed, relaxed and caught up with colleagues.
