The company behind a controversial high-voltage power line has released its final proposed route through Illinois.
As expected, Clean Line Energy Partners hopes to build poles through Pike and Scott counties along a path across the Land of Lincoln.
The 750-mile line from Kansas to Indiana would also cross parts of Randolph, Monroe and Ralls counties in Missouri.
Show-Me-State lawmaker Jim Hansen of Frankford has introduced legislation that would limit the use of eminent domain. It would require companies to prove how Missouri would benefit before land is seized.
Grain Belt has been given the green light at the federal level and in Kansas and Indiana, but Missouri and Illinois have yet to approve the project.
