Bowling Green continues to look at options for improving parking downtown.
City officials are visiting with businesses about giving up three feet of sidewalk along the outer portion of the square.
The goal is to widen streets and allow more room for parking. A timetable has not been set and no decisions have been made.
The first option was to take several feet of grass and trees around the Pike County Courthouse, but commissioners shelved the plan after residents objected.
The city also is looking at ways to improve storm water drainage on the square.
