Illinois State Police District 20 Interim Commander Glen Schwartz would like to announce Master Sergeant Brian Anderson has been appointed as the Interim Operations Officer for District 20, Pittsfield. Master Sergeant Anderson has been the District 20 Administrative Officer since December 2013.
Master Sergeant Anderson started his career with the Illinois State Police in March 1997 and was assigned to District 20 patrol upon graduation from the ISP training Academy. Anderson was promoted to Sergeant in 2005 and Master Sergeant in 2008. During his 18 years at District 20 he has served as a Field Training Officer, Crash Reconstruction Officer and Juvenile Officer. Additionally, he was a patrol officer on the Special Enforcement Team (SET) from 2002-2005 and a supervisor on the SET team from 2005-2008.
Master Sergeant Anderson is a 1987 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1987 to 1991. Master Sergeant Anderson received an Associate’s Degree from John Wood Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University and is a graduate of the Police Executive Role in the 21st Century course.
