Asphalt work around the Bowling Green square is expected to start in the next two weeks.
Details and a schedule will be announced after the city meets with the contactor. Concrete works that began last November at the four intersections has been completed. Plans now call for asphalt to be poured between the intersections and on five of eight adjoining streets.
The project has a total cost of 690 thousand dollars. Funding is coming from a half-cent transportation sales tax approved by just four votes in April 2014.
