Strong storms brought hail, high winds and heavy rain to parts of the area Wednesday (May 11).

There were reports of marble-sized hail in parts of Pike County around noon as a cold front moved through with significant downpours.

Damage and power outages occurred in Missouri and Illinois counties bordering St. Louis. More strong storms were expected overnight before the clouds moved out.

The storms were part of a widespread system that included tornadoes and flash flooding from Texas to Illinois.
