The Louisiana Community Betterment Assoc. is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Photo Contest and Exhibition on February 24, 2018. The Exhibition will be held at the Twin Pike YMCA beginning at 4:00 p.m. and will run until 6:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in entering the contest needs to have their photo appropriately represent the Louisiana community and surrounding areas. Persons, places or things that demonstrate the character, institutions, traditions and lifestyle of the community will be accepted. The deadline for all photo entries is February 16, 2018. Photos can be dropped off at the Louisiana Public Library, 121 N. 3rd St., in Louisiana, MO. Any photo taken since 2012 is eligible for entry.
Participation is encouraged by photographers of any age and all levels of competency, whether they be amateur or professional. Participants may submit up to 2 photographs for an entry fee of $5.00. Each additional entry will require an entry fee of $5.00 each. Only the judges of the contest are deemed ineligible.
All photo submissions must be at least 8” x 10” inches in size and no larger than 11” X 14” inches. Black and white or color photos from digital or film cameras will be accepted. Photos must be high quality and must be matted or framed for display. A high quality, digital photo must be submitted via email to: lmofarmersmkt@yahoo.com in order to be eligible for judging. Any contestant that fails to submit a digital photo with their physical photo will be disqualified.
All photographers will have the option of selling their photos during the exhibition. Any photo purchased will include a 10% seller fee that will be collected by Louisiana Community Betterment. All entrants must agree to allow “Free Use Of” photos submitted.
A $100 award will be given for “Best In Show” and four $25.00 awards for other photo winners.
A new addition to the contest this year will be an open display, for those who choose to participate, at the Louisiana Library, 121 N. 3d. St., Louisiana, MO for 2 weeks following the Exhibition. For those who choose, photographers may continue to offer their photos for sale during the 2 week display.
