A Pike County Missouri congregation that once worshiped under shade trees is celebrating its 150th anniversary Sunday

New Hartford Baptist is hosting a special sesquicentennial service at 1:30 p.m. September 9th. The church is just off of Highway 161 about 12 miles south of Bowling Green in the small town of New Hartford.

The Reverend Paul Lewis has been pastor since 2002, and says a steadfast devotion to biblical principles has been the foundation since the beginning.

The public is invited to the celebration, which will include special music, a history of the church and a display of original records.
