NORTHEAST, Mo. – NECAC has only spent about 10 percent of its available energy assistance funding. The agency started the winter season Nov. 1 for the elderly and disabled with about 100 thousand dollars more to help the needy with utility bills in Missouri.
The numbers are expected to go up when signups for families and individuals will begin Dec. 1. Two types of energy assistance are available. There are income and other qualifications. Applications are available at NECAC County Service Centers or by calling 573-324-0120.
Missouri counties covered are Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Montgomery, Monroe, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, St. Charles, Shelby and Warren.
