Flooding has forced the closure of the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana, Mo.High water is swamping the Illinois approach to the bridge at Pike Station. The 91-year-old structure carries about 4,000 vehicles a day on U.S. 54 between Illinois and Missouri, and connects Interstate 72 at Pittsfield with U.S. Highway 61 at Bowling Green.It is the only highway crossing of the Mississippi River between Hannibal and Alton.
