Raintree Arts Council is partnering with the Louisiana Visitors and Convention Bureau for the first Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned contest in Louisiana. Ribs On The River for master barbequers on June 21 and June 22. Raintree will sponsor a beer garden both days.

Due to flooding in Clarksville the Show-Me Missouri State Chili Cook-off  will be held in conjunction with the Ribs on the River in Louisiana on June 22.   We will have the categories of Red, Green, Homestyle and Veggie if enough contestants enter.  There will be a total of $2000 in chili prize money. Set up will be 7 a.m. Start fire at 8:30 a.m.for Homestyle turn in at 11:30 a.m; Fire at 9:30 for Veggie turn in at 12:30;  10:30 Verde turn in at 1:30;   Red noon and turn in 3:00 p.m. All chili will be available for public tasting; Tickets for  samples will be 50 cents each.

A Raintree sponsored Beer Garden will be open on June 21 beginning at 4p.m.-9 pm.with music by Black Suede.  Be sure and come for a special bourbon tasting at the beer garden on Friday June 21 at 6 p.m._til 8 pm.    

On June 22 the beer garden will be open 11a.m.-7 p..m. On Saturday there will be two bands Garden Party as well as Butchwax and the Hollywoods.
