BOWLING GREEN – Sean Morris will be the keynote speaker and entertainment will include a brass sextet at this year’s Bowling Green High School alumni banquet on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The 35th annual banquet will be held in the James A Wilson gymnasium, beginning with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person, which includes Alumni Association dues.
Catherine Rosen, of the Alumni Association, said the classes that will be honored this year include those before 1958, then 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2009. She noted that over $376,000 have been given by the association in post-secondary education scholarships including 10 scholarships of $1,000 each for graduates of the class of 2019.
Rosen pointed out that letters regarding the banquet are only sent to the class members from the years that are being celebrated. She added the banquet should be a great time with Morris giving the address and musical entertainment by the brass group that includes class of 1963 alumni John Parcell and David Stover.
Morris is a graduate of the class of 1992 and is a lifelong resident of Bowling Green. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and Hannibal LaGrange College to receive a BS in business administration. He was active in baseball before opting to focus on family and local business.
