BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — A local agency has gotten a top federal rating for overseeing a rent-assistance program in 11 Missouri counties.
With extra credit points, the North East Community Action Corporation surpassed the 100 percent rating for administration of the Section 8 program.
It’s the ninth time in 10 years that NECAC has gotten a top rating from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD tested NECAC in 15 areas.
The program covers Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, Shelby and Warren counties. It provides partial rent assistance to income-qualifying people.
