PIKE & LINCOLN COUNTIES, Mo. – Pike-Lincoln Tech Center announced the facility will be closed March 16-20.
PLTC Director Martin Hanley issued a letter stating the measure is being taken in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. He added there are fewer students this week due to the spring break holidays throughout the area.
“During this time, our instructors are working on a variety of different alternative learning projects to be used in the event of an extended closure,” Hanley stated. “Our maintenance team is also working diligently to keep the facilities clean and sanitized. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost priority to us.” He added that any PLTC students who do not have access to the internet should contact the school as soon as possible.
Hanley explained that the districts who utilize PLTC are meeting with their health departments over the next few days.
“We are working with all of our districts to get as accurate information as possible. We will continue to share with our families as we have information. If the decision is made by our district [Pike County (Clopton) R-III] to close, we will communicate that via the usual methods.”
Hanley urges parents and students to remain calm and to contact him with any questions.
