BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — As part of National Community Action Month in May, a local agency is showcasing the help it can offer to those affected by coronavirus.
The North East Community Action Corporation serves disadvantaged people in nine Missouri counties. Programs include budgeting, health care and help with rent.
Because of COVID-19, the deadline to apply for utility assistance has been extended through May 31st. The program can provide up to 495 dollars to help with utility bills.
Job skills information also is being offered for people who’ve lost positions due to the virus. NECAC service centers remain open. For more information, call the agency at 1-800-748-7636.
