Christy Chastain of Vandalia has been promoted to housing assistance counselor at NECAC.

Chastain was hired in October 2024 in the Energy Assistance Department. In her job as housing assistance counselor, she will provide help to private landlords and guidance to tenants who are part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 Voucher Program, which provide partial rent assistance to qualifying applicants. NECAC administers the program in its 12 counties.

Chastain is a 2001 graduate of Winfield High School and previously worked at the Missouri Department of Corrections.
