PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — Braden Grote, left, and Brent Engel ring bells for the Salvation Army at Walmart in Bowling Green. This season’s campaign from Nov. 29 to Dec. 24 brought in $9,606.78 from generous contributors. The total does not include figures from online giving, which will be available by spring. Eighty-five percent of the money stays in Pike County to help people in need. Engel rang for 25 hours – three short of his personal record set in 2023 – and kept a promise to buy dinner for this year’s top ringer. David Childers put in 35 hours. Bell ringing also took place at County Market in Louisiana. Braden is a son of Justin and Tabitha Grote of Bowling Green.
