CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Offering an array of acts is one way to make a stage all the rage.
The Changelings theater troupe is offering up to 10 acts as part of its annual Variety Show at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at The Apple Shed in Clarksville. Doors open at 6. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and kids, and will be available at the door.
Changelings Director Mary Lang Fournier promises an entertaining evening.
“Everyone is welcome and there will be something for everyone in terms of content,” she said. “We have singers, prose, a one-man band and a lonely mermaid! Everything from pro singers to improv aficionados.”
Donna Grote plans to sing “I’m A Woman” and “She’s Got You.”
“I’m bringing a little comedy to the show,” Grote said. “I enjoy that side of performing. You never know what to expect!”
People who attend this year will notice a big difference from the 2023 show. The theater just finished installing new illumination.
“We’ll start the night with a bit of a light show,” Fournier said.
The Changelings, which operates under the umbrella of Raintree Arts Council, can point to an amazing, 91-year-old role model for its variety show inspiration.
“Carol Burnett is our biggest influence,” Fournier said.
In addition to the performances, paintings by Louisiana artist Dieter Mueller will be featured in the lobby. Mueller won “Best of Show” and “Professional Division 1st Place” last month in Raintree’s 50th Annual Art Show and Judged Competition.
