PIKE CO, Mo — NECAC and the Salvation Army are seeking bell ringers for the Red Kettle fund-raising campaign, which kicks off Nov. 25 and runs through Dec. 24.
People are needed to ring bells for a couple of hours at a time outside the Bowling Green Walmart or County Market in Louisiana. Day and evening hours are available, and the schedule is flexible.
Eighty-five percent of donations will stay in Pike County to help local residents. Last year’s campaign raised almost $12,000. Groups, businesses and individuals are urged to sign up. To do so, call NECAC Pike County Service Coordinator Penny Dixon at 573-324-2207.
“We’ve had success in the past and we look forward to donations this year,” Dixon said. “Some of the stories are really heartbreaking, and we want to make Christmas brighter and help our neighbors in need.”
