CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Cornet Chop Suey returns to The Apple Shed in Clarksville at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 14. Doors open at 6. A cash bar, loaded hot dog and snacks will be available for purchase. Tickets are $20 each, with premium seating available by calling 573-754-0335. Pictured is Cornet trumpeter and vocalist Brian Casserly serenading Maureen Jovanovic of Troy at last year’s concert with the original song “Mr. Donut Blues.” It includes the lines “I’ve got a belly full of jelly” and “When I’m feelin’ down and out and got no lovin’, I drive straight to the donut shop and buy happiness by the dozen.” Cornet plays traditional jazz and show tunes, but also incorporates a few surprise arrangements into its set.
