QUINCY, Il. — The Chuck Wagon Gang, legendary stars of gospel, country, and bluegrass music will be in concert Thursday, August 8 at 7 pm at Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy.

The Chuck Wagon Gang has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and are often on the Grand Ole Opry, all from a humble beginning over eighty years ago singing on a local radio program in Lubbock, Texas. Today, granddaughter Shaye Smith sings alto for the quartet that performs in countless venues of all sizes across the country.

Marty Stuart of country and bluegrass music fame calls them “unbreakable, steady, unmovable truth” and wrote all the songs on their “Meeting In Heaven” album.

Their sound today does not vary from the family group that first sang in 1935. Four voices and one guitar blend in perfect harmony as they perform old favorites and brand new songs bringing plain truth for listeners of all ages with a “country church” feel.

No tickets are needed for the concert; a love offering will be received for the group. The church at 4700 Broadway in Quincy is handicap accessible with ample parking.
