BOWLING GREEN, Mo.– The Missouri National Guard’s 135th Army Band performed a patriotic concert in the Bowling High School Auditorium on Tuesday night. Community members and area veterans filled auditorium seats at the free event, showering the band with praise following an invigorating performance.
In 2023, the Missouri National Guard’s 135th Army Band performed at the Bowling Green Bicentennial celebration. When an opening arose in the band’s 2024, it was a no-brainer for community members to get the band back to the area for another show. Tuesday’s event was sponsored by the Bowling Green and Clarksville VFWs, the Louisiana American Legion, and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to the concert, Bowling Green Mayor Jim Arico and Missouri State Representative Chad Perkins presented Don Hamilton with a resolution for his dedication in planning the Bowling Green Bicentennial celebration.
Veterans and their families were honored by the 135th Army Band throughout the concert and each military branch was recognized by the playing of the branch’s official song.
