LOUISIANA, Mo. — The announcement was made this Monday, April 22, 2024, by the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce. The following is the official press release:
Dear Chamber Members and the Community,
We regret to inform you that the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce will not be able to host this year’s 4th of July Celebration. We understand the immense disappointment this decision may bring to our community.
Please know that this decision was not reached lightly. Time and effort has been spent assessing the current situation and exploring every possible avenue to find a solution. Ultimately, we found ourselves faced with insurmountable challenges, particularly regarding the significant increase in costs associated with this year’s celebration. Despite our best efforts to find other options, the projected expenses are at a minimum of $10,000 for a 10 minute display rendering it financially impractical for us to proceed with hosting the event.
We fully recognize the importance of the 4th of July Celebration to our community, and it is with sincere regret that we must forego hosting this year’s event. However, we are committed to supporting our community in other ways. We have diligently sought out potential replacements to oversee the event and will be sharing this information with Mayor Tim Carter. If the city or another entity decides to host this event, we pledge to be one of the sponsors should they ask for sponsorship and support the event by networking to promote through social media, email newsletters, and community bulletin boards as a gesture of our apology and ongoing support for our community.
We hope that other community organizations will join us in rallying behind this event and offer their support to ensure its success, should anyone decide to take on the responsibility.
Your understanding and continued support mean the world to us, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to advocating for our local businesses and our beloved community in any way we can.
Sincerely,
Tabitha Rardon
President
Louisiana MO Chamber of Commerce
